It's a beautiful morning in Guatemala! The team is waking up and we are about to have breakfast and travel by boat across Lake Atitlan from Panajachel to San Juan La Laguna where we will stay and work all week. Yesterday was a rigorous travel day - we flew from Nashville to Dallas and then from Dallas to Guatemala City. From there we took some vans and drove up and over the mountain on some bumpy curvy roads for many hours. On the way, we visited the site of some Mayan ruins which was incredibly interesting to see. A couple of our team members had different travel schedules, and we met up along the way so when we all sat down for dinner together, it finally felt like the trip had begun. Last night we went to an Italian resturant, and we really enjoyed it. The rest of the week we will enjoy local Guatemalan cusisne, so having pizza and pasta was a nice treat.
I'm really excited about the week and all the wonderful things God has in store for us. I hope and pray that myself and everyone on the team will take the time to be aware of God's blessings, how we will be used to share God's blessings, and how God's blessings will be shown to us through the wonderful people of Guatemala. Please pray for us and for each person we will meet this week during our work in the clinic and in building a home. Thanks West End UMC family|
