Making our building available to the community:
We are blessed with a building that is notable for its aesthetics, location for ministry and amount and variety of space that is used frequently and effectively. We want to make our building available to the community. However, because we receive so many requests for meeting space, we have established some guidlines about how the building is used.
Activities of West End:
Programs and activities of the West End congregation have first priority in scheduling space in the building. These requests should be given 7-10 days in advance.
Activities of the United Methodist Church: Programs and activities of United Methodist related agencies have priority over activities not related to the United Methodist Church. These requests should be given 30 days prior to the event.
Community activities of church members: Programs and activities in which West End members are involved will be considered depending upon the activity and time and space requirements. An application giving the particulars of the event should be submitted at least 30 days prior to the event. The Pastoral/Program Staff determines if these activities are permitted.
Other community activities:
Community service programs and activities that fall within the parameters of the Social Principles of the United Methodist Church will be considered. An application must be filled out completely and submitted early enough for a determination to be made at least 30 days but no more than 60 days prior to the event. The Pastoral/Program Staff determines if these activities are permitted. If the program or activity is approved, any changes in set-up and equipment requests must be given 7-10 days before the event. No major events will be scheduled during the following: Holy Week, the week before Christmas, and Thanksgiving week.

Most of our beautiful building is wheelchair-accessible. From the paved parking lot on 23rd Avenue, a ramp leads to two sets of automatic glass doors.
An elevator provides access to all five floors.
The areas of our building that are not fully accessible include parts of the Day School, the Cloister Garden and the chancel and balcony areas of the sanctuary.
