Being in community with one another yields a significant dimension to our life experiences. Participating in a small group gives us the opportunity to know others more deeply, to develop caring relationships, and to share our faith in fun and fulfilling ways. And small groups are a Methodist tradition!

Prayer Shawl Knitters and Crocheters Needed!

Prayer Shawl knitters are needed! These faithful congregants minister by knitting or crocheting shawls and lap blankets for West End members recovering from an illness or surgery, or for new moms and people in nursing homes or care facilities.

Everyone struggles with what to do or say when friends and family are coping with serious life events. We want to say “the right thing,” we want to be helpful, but it may feel awkward.

This column focuses on your actions when someone becomes seriously ill. Martha Ann Pilcher and the Stephen Ministers have come up with some practical tips and guidelines to help us in these kind of situations:
