West End's Playschool -- A part-day program. The Playschool program was founded in the late 1970s as an extension of West End United Methodist Church's ministry to young children and their families.

Hours are 9:00 a.m. until 2:30 p.m., 46 weeks out of the year. The Playschool is closed for six holidays and four professional development days for teachers. You may also view or save the 09-10 Playschool Calendar 2.doc .

Children from one through four years of age are eligible to attend.

One and two-year olds may attend one or two days per week. Threes and Fours may register for a two-day or a three-day per week session (M, W, F or T, Th).

The teacher-child ratio is 1 to 4 for Toddlers in a class of 8; 1 to 6 in Two's, Three's and Four's in classes of 12.

Toddlers and Twos bring their lunch. A mid-morning snack and a beverage (milk) at lunch are provided.

An annual registration fee is charged: $25 for the summer session and $75 for the fall/spring session. Monthly tuition is computed on a daily rate. Parents may sell days they are unable to use to the parent of another registered child.

Tuition is based on the number of days per week a child attends and is averaged throughout the year. Tuition for Toddlers and Twos for the entire ten-week '09 summer term is $340 for one day per week; $680 for two days per week; and $1020 for three days per week. In the fall of '09, monthly tuition for one day per week will be $137; two days per week is $274; and three days is $411.

Three and four-year olds are served a heart-healthy meal for lunch. The cost of lunch is included in the tuition. Tuition for the entire 10 week '09 summer session for 3s and 4s is $740 for the child attending 2 days per week and $1110 for 3 days per week. In the fall of '09 monthly tuition for 3s and 4s is $298 for 2 days per week and $447 for 3 days per week.

Registration is held in mid-January for members of West End United Methodist Church and for children currently enrolled.
