A documentary about the trial that rocked the United Methodist Church and the minister who risked it all for his son.

An Act of Love is an award winning documentary film that explores the complexities of being a United Methodist clergy person who feels called by God in love to perform the same sex wedding of his own son.  While our country says marriage is a legal right for all, our own denomination currently says it is a violation of the United Methodist Book of Discipline to marry same sex couples or to hold their weddings in our sanctuaries. This story follows the highly publicized events of Frank Shaefer’s life after he risked his own career for the love of his son.  An Act of Love will be shown in the 4th Story Theater at West End on Wednesday, June 22, at 7 p.m.  Admission is free.  Please join us!
