Celebration Sunday

Become a Deep Blue Kid at West End UMC!

Welcome to a new year of Children’s Sunday morning groups for all children at West End United Methodist Church.

It is the goal of the Sunday morning experiences to foster an environment where learning is valued, play is encouraged, friendships are formed, and faith in Jesus grows. We are glad your children are here. Children provide an open, honest, and energetic perspective to the church. We hope your child/children will participate on a consistent and regular basis. The impact of growing in one’s faith is life changing.

Join us on Sunday, August 21 for Celebration Sunday where we will celebrate a new school year and a new year of growing in our relationships with one another and Jesus.

Some children will transition to new groups, new leaders, new spaces, and even new floors. As part of the transition, parents are reminded to please sign children in and out of both Preschool and Elementary groups. This is to be in keeping with our Safe Sanctuary policy. Here is some information to help children transition:

Age/Grade of child                          Group Name    Room #
Children age 2 by October 15, 2016    2 year olds       110
Children age 3 by October 15, 2016    3 year olds       106
Children age 4 by October 15, 2016    4 year olds       112
Age 5 or beginning Kindergarten         5’s & Kindergarten     111
1st grade                                          Whales            409
2nd and 3rd grade                              Sea Stars        404
4th and 5th grade                               Squids            407
6th grade                                           Credo Confirmation    406

Some children will jump right in and quickly adapt to new experiences and surroundings. Other children will be more hesitant and need time to adapt to big changes and new environments. Parents are welcome to stay with their children during this transition process. Children adjust more quickly to their surroundings the more consistent they participate.

We encourage parents to get involved in our Children’s Ministry whether by helping in a child’s class, lending a hand on special dates, or joining the Children’s Ministry team. We also encourage parents to join an Adult Sunday Morning Group!
