The story of the Good Samaritan is among the most familiar of Biblical stories. Jesus told the story in response to a lawyer's inquiry, "Who is my neighbor?" In modern parlance the question becomes, "Whose lives matter?" It turns out that the parable indicates the life that matters is of anyone who needs our mercy.
