“Providing Vital Programs for Our Senior Years”

The Senior Adult Council primarily ministers to members of our congregation who are 65+. The Council offers that segment of the church family opportunities to participate in a variety of programs designed to meet their educational, social, personal and spiritual needs. These regular planned activities include trips, programs and other opportunities to gather together. In addition, the group sponsors a Body Recall exercise class and Caring Callers, a visitation program designed to provide support to our home bound members, as well as those receiving hospital, nursing home and hospice care. Caring Callers work in collaboration with the Pastoral Care Staff members to provide frequent contacts with those who are no longer able to attend worship.

  • Body Recall Exercise Class

Body Recall is an exercise class primarily for senior adults. It meets on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings at 9:30 a.m. The sessions include stretching, walking and exercising while sitting. Started in 1995, the group has become a caring community to all who join them. Come be a part of this group. There is no charge.

  • Caring Callers

Caring Callers is a ministry of love and connection. Appproximately 40 volunteers visit in-home members who are no longer able to attend church for the most part. Ideally the visitors go at least once a month or if not, write a note or make a phone call to that friend. Shut-ins enjoy getting flowers from a Sunday worship service, bulletins and inserts and printed sermons or worship service tapes. Our faithful volunteers make a difference in homebound member's lives, receiving a blessing in return.
