Day on the Hill for Housing & Homelessness 2023 Sign-Up
Want to be an advocate for housing? Join us on February 21st for the Day on the Hill for Housing and Homelessness and don't miss the chance to speak with your legislators. A group information session on what to expect when meeting with your elected official will take place on Tuesday morning at Belmont United Methodist Church (2007 Acklen Ave, Nashville, TN 37212) before heading to the State Capitol, followed by group meetings with elected officials throughout the day on Tuesday. Meetings with representatives and senators will take place at the Tennessee State Capitol Building (600 Dr. MLK Jr Blvd, Nashville, TN 37243) in individual elected official’s offices. We will be reserving a room in the Capitol building where we can gather in between meetings, eat lunch, and debrief.

Sierra Club Conservation Education Day

Please join the Sierra Club and other conservation organizations at the annual Conservation Education Day with the General Assembly. We attempt to meet with all State Senators and State Representatives on that day. One catch is that the legislators will only schedule an appointment with a constituent. Members in rural areas can help by attending a meeting with their senator and representative. We will have experts to accompany each group and give the talking points about current issues. There is an optional training session the evening of February 28 for attendees at Glendale Baptist Church. Visits are about 15 minutes each and consist of at least three people. Appointments are scheduled in advance, throughout the day.

Death Penalty Day on the Hill
Join Tennesseans for Alternatives to the Death Penalty on March 22nd at the Cordell Hull Building in Nashville. We will meet for a training session beginning at 8:30 a.m. in the Cordell Hull Building, located at 425 Rep. John Lewis Way N, Nashville, TN 37243.
We will meet on the 8th floor in conference room 8C. TADP Director Stacy Rector will lead a training for all those who plan to meet with lawmakers. This training is mandatory for anyone who will be making visits that day. TADP will set up your meetings for you and will provide you with the materials to make your visits with other TADP supporters. Meetings will be set up throughout the day, and you only need to attend the 8:30 a.m. training and your meetings if you are able. If you are not able to make your meetings because of conflicts with your schedule that day, TADP will provide you with a sample email that you can send to your lawmakers instead.
