In this passage, a group of Herodians and Pharisees, who are normally opposed to each other, tries to trap Jesus by asking him a simple yes-or-no question. The problem is, whether he answers yes or no, his position will make him vulnerable to arrest. Jesus, though, turns the answer around and gives them, and us, one of the fundamental tenets of faith in God.
