Each year West End UMC hosts a series of concerts on Thursdays at noon during Lent, and this sixth one of Lent, 2025, features Phil DeGreg, jazz pianist.  For this concert, he performs jazz improvisations on hymns, including, “This Is My Father’s World,” “Holy, Holy, Holy,” “Jesus Loves Me,” “What a Friend We Have In Jesus,” “Lift Every Voice and Sing,” plus he added a Duke Ellington tune, “Lotus Blossom.”  For an encore he improvised on the hymn, “Great Is They Faithfulness.”
