MINISTRIES West End Preschool

West End Preschool, a ministry of West End United Methodist Church, is dedicated to providing high-quality early childhood education. This is evidenced by our 3-Star rated license by the state, the highest rating possible, and our accreditation by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). Currently, only 2% of the early childhood programs in Davidson County have attained NAEYC accreditation.

Serving children from six weeks through five years of age, the Preschool’s mission is to develop within each child a vibrant mind, a healthy body and a caring heart while building a collaborative, supportive community among our families.

Vibrant Mind: Each child is encouraged to develop at his own pace and to his individual capacity. Our excellent teachers observe and track children’s development. They then plan a rich and stimulating learning environment to foster each child’s individual growth and development. Our PreK program emphasizes long term, project based learning as well.

Healthy Body: Children develop their bodies through play in our full-size gymnasium and our 3 park-like playgrounds. Our meal program is exceptional, with lunch and snacks prepared on site by our own chef, using primarily fresh, locally grown ingredients.

Caring Heart: The church and preschool strive to promote a greater understanding and appreciation of the world by fostering a culturally and socio-economically diverse community. While no formal Christian instruction is incorporated into the Preschool curriculum, we do strive to instill values of respect for self and others, compassion, thankfulness, and community.

Community: There are many opportunities for parents to be actively involved in the Preschool. Committee work, family events such as our Family Fellowship Festival, as well as fundraisers such as our Plant Sale, allow parents to get to know each other and the other children in their child’s class.

Our Full Time Program operates five days a week from 7 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. 52 weeks a year. This program enrolls children beginning at 2 months of age to 4 years of age.
