Film Screening: By Design: The Shaping of Nashville’s Public Schools
The Nashville Public Education Foundation has produced a new documentary, “By Design: The Shaping of Nashville’s Public Schools” examining the historical moments that shaped our public schools dating back to the 1800s. It features accounts from historians, policymakers, and former Nashville teachers and students that outline the community priorities and policy decisions that shaped the public education system we know in Nashville today. The film is intended to educate the community about how public policy and community priorities have formed the basis for the city’s current education system, and to generate awareness and advocacy to stimulate policy solutions for a better public school system where all students thrive. Join us in the 4th Story Theater as we watch the film together, followed by a time of discussion as we discuss what we learned and ponder what our loving response should be. No registration required.
