Memphis and TN Conference of the UMC Licensing and Commissioning Service, June 19, 2021, 11 AM at West End UMC.  This is the worship service wherein new local pastors and provisional elders are formally licensed and commissioned and brought into their ministries.  In his sermon, Bishop William McAlilly recounts experiences through the forty years of his own calling and ministry as a way to prepare and advise the new ministers.  He also cites the John 13 story of Jesus washing the feet of his disciples and patterns that the life of Jesus and the stories throughout the Old and New Testaments offer as guidance for ministry.
